Our Commitment:
First aid trained staff are always on-site. Children under 6 years old must have a parent or guardian present for group sessions and provide support to the rider if needed. To minimize the risks, it is important to follow instructions from the coach and adhere to general safety rules.Rules:
Protective Gear: Helmets, wrist guards, knee pads, and elbow pads are mandatory.
Respect Others: Be mindful of others and move safely around the space. No pushing or cutting in line.
Listen to Coaches: Follow all instructions from our coaches at all times.
Trick Progression: Do not try any trick unless the coach has asked you to and confirmed you are ready to do so
No Wet Floor Riding: Riding on wet surfaces is strictly prohibited. It’s not safe for riders and damages equipment. No exceptions.
Equipment Care: Gear must be handled with care, even if it’s yours and especially if you are borrowing from us.
Report Issues: Immediately report any problems with the gear or any concerns about other participants to the coach.
Important:
Due to the nature of the sport, riders who do not follow these rules will be asked to leave. No refund will be provided in these cases. -

This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, coaches, and anyone representing Broken Boards Ltd. It covers all activities and interactions within our organisation, including coaching sessions, events, and online communications.
2. Key Principles
The welfare of children and vulnerable individuals is our top priority. Everyone, regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation, or identity, has the right to be safe from abuse. We are committed to working in partnership with parents, guardians, local authorities, and relevant organisations to ensure safeguarding measures are upheld.
3. Responsibilities
All staff and volunteers must be aware of safeguarding policies and undergo appropriate training and DBS checks. Any concerns or allegations must be reported to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), who will ensure that concerns are documented and acted upon in accordance with relevant legislation.
4. Recognising and Responding to Concerns
Abuse can take many forms, including physical, emotional, sexual, and neglect. Any suspicions or disclosures must be taken seriously and reported immediately. Reports can be made confidentially to the DSL or an external safeguarding body if necessary. Concerns will be recorded accurately, securely stored, and only shared with relevant authorities. Any allegations against staff members will be handled in line with safeguarding protocols and legal requirements.

Child: Anyone under 18 years of age. Abuse: A violation of a child's rights through physical, emotional, sexual harm, or neglect.
3. Roles and Responsibilities
Carina Santos, the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is responsible for child protection within Broken Boards Ltd. All staff and volunteers must be aware of the policy and report any concerns immediately. Training and awareness sessions will be conducted regularly for all team members. Parents and guardians will be informed of our commitment to child protection. Parents will also be informed of any concerns unless doing so would put the child at further risk. We encourage open communication between staff, children, and parents.
4. Identifying Abuse
Signs of abuse include unexplained injuries, sudden behavioural changes, fearfulness, or withdrawal. Staff are vigilant and will report any concerns, even if unsure.
5. Reporting Procedures
Any concerns will be reported to the DSL as soon as possible. If a child is in immediate danger, emergency services will be contacted. Records of concerns must be kept confidential and shared only with appropriate authorities.
6. Code of Conduct for Staff and Volunteers
Always act in the best interest of the child. Avoid situations where you are alone with a child unless necessary. Maintain professional boundaries and use appropriate language and behaviour. Report any inappropriate conduct by other staff or volunteers.
