Our goal is to make wheeled sports accessible for everyone in Oxfordshire. We believe that every member of our community should have the opportunity to ride safely and receive coaching, regardless of financial or health challenges. To achieve this, we founded the Oxfordshire Extreme Sports Alliance C.I.C, bringing together skatepark users to improve facilities and accessibility for all wheeled sports. This initiative enables us to apply for grants to fund events, coaching sessions, and youth programs, ensuring more people can experience the benefits of skateboarding and other wheeled sports.
What we have done so far
Mission 1: A Skatepark Education Campaign
Across West Oxfordshire, more skateparks are being built — a win for youth, community, and creativity! But with this rise comes a new issue: too often, these parks are overrun — not by skaters, but by young children weaving through ramps, parents standing in landing zones, and riders who don’t yet understand how to use the space safely. It’s not their fault. They haven’t been taught. We’re part of the skateboarding and scootering community because we care about it. We want to see skateparks used properly — not policed, not restricted, but respected. Therefore, we’re running a Skatepark Education Tour to bring free safety talks to schools, youth clubs, and communities; workshops on skatepark flow and etiquette for riders and parents; free beginner sessions and posters, signs, and print guides to explain the rules in a friendly way. Our goal is simple: to protect parks from chaos, to protect kids from danger, to create respectful, safe, and fun spaces for everyone who wants to skate. This isn’t a profit-making campaign. This is for the riders. This is for the families. This is for the future of every kid who wants to try skateboarding or scootering — and do it safely. Together, we can make West Oxfordshire a model for skatepark education — a place where respect is taught, safety is normal, and riders of all levels can ride together without fear or frustration. We will raise the standard.
