Our Commitment
Broken Boards Ltd is committed to providing a safe, enjoyable and inclusive environment for all participants, coaches, volunteers and visitors.

Carry out risk assessments for our activities and venues.
Inspect equipment before use and remove damaged equipment from service.
Maintain appropriate public liability insurance.
Encourage riders to progress at a pace appropriate to their ability.
Promote a positive, respectful and supportive environment for everyone.
Participant Responsibilities
To help keep everyone safe, participants must:
Protective Equipment
Approved helmets, wrist guards, knee pads and elbow pads must be worn at all times during our sessions unless otherwise agreed in writing by Broken Boards Ltd. Riders choosing not to wear optional protective equipment where a waiver has been agreed do so at their own risk. Helmets remain mandatory without exception.
Listen to Coaches
Participants must follow all instructions given by coaches immediately.
Respect Others
Be aware of other riders, wait your turn where appropriate, and avoid pushing, rough play or unsafe behaviour.
Ride Within Your Ability
Only attempt tricks or obstacles that a coach has confirmed are appropriate for your skill level.
Safe Riding Conditions
Riding on wet surfaces is strictly prohibited as it creates a significant slip hazard and may damage equipment.
Equipment Care
All equipment, whether personally owned or borrowed from Broken Boards Ltd, must be treated with care. Any damaged or unsafe equipment should be reported to a coach immediately.
Report Concerns
Participants should immediately inform a coach of any injury, damaged equipment, unsafe behaviour or hazards.
Parents and Guardians
Children under 6 years old attending group sessions must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult, who must remain present throughout the session and provide assistance where required.
Parents and guardians must ensure that all relevant medical information, allergies or additional support needs are disclosed before the session begins.
Injuries and Emergencies
In the event of an injury:
Coaches will assess the situation and administer first aid where appropriate.
Emergency services will be contacted if necessary.
Parents or emergency contacts will be informed as soon as reasonably possible.
Serious incidents will be recorded in accordance with our accident reporting procedures.
Behaviour
Participants whose behaviour creates a risk to themselves or others may be asked to stop riding or leave the session.
Broken Boards Ltd reserves the right to remove any participant who repeatedly fails to follow safety instructions. No refund will be provided where a participant is removed due to unsafe behaviour or breaches of our Terms & Conditions.
Shared Responsibility
By attending our sessions, participants and parents acknowledge that skateboarding and scootering involve inherent risks. Everyone shares responsibility for creating a safe environment by following this policy and the instructions of our coaches.
