Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 13 July 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to all activities provided by Broken Boards Ltd, including private lessons, group sessions, after-school clubs, holiday camps, workshops and events. By making a booking with Broken Boards Ltd, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. General Terms

Safety

All participants must follow the instructions of our coaches and comply with our Health & Safety Policy at all times. Protective equipment must be worn as required by Broken Boards Ltd. Participants who fail to follow safety instructions or whose behaviour places themselves or others at risk may be removed from the session without refund.

Medical Information

Parents and participants are responsible for informing Broken Boards Ltd of any relevant medical conditions, allergies, injuries or additional support needs before attending a session.

Photography & Video

Broken Boards Ltd is committed to protecting the privacy of the children and young people who attend our sessions.

As a general rule, we do not publish photographs on our website that clearly show a child's face or contain information that could reasonably identify them.

From time to time, we may take photographs or videos during our sessions for promotional purposes, including use on our social media channels. Any images or videos in which a child can be clearly identified will only be used where appropriate consent has been provided by a parent or legal guardian.

Parents and guardians may withdraw their consent for future use of identifiable images at any time by contacting us. We will remove the relevant content from platforms and media under our control within a reasonable timeframe where practicable.

Please note that this policy applies only to photographs and videos taken or published by Broken Boards Ltd. We are not responsible for content captured or shared by third parties, including members of the public, participants, parents, schools, venues, event organisers or other organisations. Requests for the removal of third-party content should be directed to the individual or organisation that published it.

Weather

Skateboarding and scootering are weather-dependent activities. Outdoor sessions may be postponed or cancelled due to wet, icy or otherwise unsafe conditions. Where possible, weather decisions will be made at least two hours before the session. For outdoor holiday camps, cancellation decisions will normally be made by 7:00am. Where Broken Boards Ltd cancels a session due to weather, participants will be offered the remedy stated for that session type below.

2. Private Lessons & Group Sessions

Cancellations

Bookings cancelled more than 14 days before the session will receive a full refund. Bookings cancelled within 14 days of the session will receive a credit note valid for future bookings. Bookings cancelled within 48 hours of the session are not normally eligible for a refund or credit. Any credit issued within this period is entirely at the discretion of Broken Boards Ltd. Failure to attend a booked session or arriving without suitable footwear or required equipment will not qualify for a refund or credit. If Broken Boards Ltd cancels a session due to unsafe weather or unforeseen circumstances, a credit note or alternative session will be offered.

3. After-School Clubs

Attendance

After-school clubs are booked on a full-term basis unless otherwise stated. Refunds are not available for individual missed sessions, regardless of the reason for absence. If a child chooses to stop attending part-way through the term, we will make reasonable efforts to fill the space. If successful, the remaining sessions may be refunded. This cannot be guaranteed.

Participation

Our clubs provide a safe and supportive environment where children are encouraged to participate and develop new skills. While children are never forced to take part, participants are expected to remain with the group and engage appropriately throughout the session. Our coaches supervise the group as a whole and cannot provide one-to-one supervision for children who repeatedly refuse to participate or leave the activity area. Where a child's behaviour consistently affects the safety or enjoyment of others, Broken Boards Ltd reserves the right to withdraw the child's place from the club without refund.

Bad Weather

Where possible, sessions will be moved indoors. If the sports hall is unavailable, children will participate in alternative supervised activities, including skateboarding-related games, challenges and arts and crafts.

Collection

Children must be collected promptly at the end of each session unless alternative arrangements have been made directly with the school. A five-minute grace period is allowed. Late collection charges are:

Up to 10 minutes late: £10

More than 15 minutes late: £30

These charges help cover additional staffing and scheduling costs.

4. Holiday Camps

Behaviour

We expect all participants to behave respectfully towards coaches, volunteers and fellow participants. Where behaviour creates a risk to themselves or others, or repeatedly disrupts activities, parents may be asked to collect their child early. No refund will be provided where a participant is withdrawn due to unsafe or unacceptable behaviour.

Cancellations

Bookings cancelled at least 48 hours before the session will receive a full refund. Bookings cancelled within 48 hours of the session are non-refundable. Missed sessions are non-refundable and cannot be transferred.

Weather

Our holiday camps include indoor activities, allowing us to continue through light or intermittent rain. Where persistent adverse weather makes the session unsafe, Broken Boards Ltd will notify families by 7:00am on the day of the session. If we cancel a holiday camp session due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, participants may choose either: a full refund or to transfer their booking to another available date.

5. Equipment

Participants borrowing equipment supplied by Broken Boards Ltd must use it responsibly and return it in the condition it was provided, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any equipment faults should be reported immediately to a coach.

6. Liability

Skateboarding and scootering are action sports that involve an inherent risk of injury. Broken Boards Ltd takes reasonable steps to minimise these risks through coaching, supervision and safety procedures. Participants and parents accept these inherent risks by taking part in our activities. Nothing within these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes liability where this would be unlawful.

7. Changes to Bookings

Broken Boards Ltd reserves the right to amend session times, venues, coaches or activities where necessary. Where significant changes are required, participants will be informed as soon as reasonably practicable.
